These three chairs are reduced from the original Adult Adirondack Chair, but constructed from 1/2" (13mm) cedar fence boards with brass screws and bolts.
The proportionately curved seat and back allows your children the same comfort you get in the adult chair, and
gives them an opportunity to grow into the three available sizes.
The smallest CHILD plan measures 15 3/4"W x 19 7/8"D x 19"H (40cmW x 50.5cmD x 48.3cmH), and
fit my Grandson Zaphod from 6 months up to 2 years.Since the Youth size was too large for him, I designed the JUNIOR size he graduated to, in the fall of
2010, as you see here. It measures 20" 1/2W x 23"D x 24 1/2"H (52.1cmW x 58.5cmD x 62.3cmH)
The YOUTH sized plan measures 23 9/16"W x 29 3/4"D x 28 1/2"H (60cmW x 75.6cmD x
72.4cmH), and is a perfect fit for Releigh, my Great Niece. Click here for a look. One of our Customers made both chairs in teak and hickory , for his grandsons.
The traditional curved top is shown above, but the plans also include patterns for the other back designs, scalloped and picket fence , as shown on the
Adult Adirondack page. Plans also include pictures
and dimensions of the taper sled I use on my table saw, to cut the back slats and back support pieces.
The mailed plans
include assembly instructions, parts pictures and full size paper cut-outs, which you can trace onto hardboard
for permanent templates. Each is lettered in order of assembly, and the legs are marked for bolt locations. You will be emailed the assembly instructions with my Paypal receipt, so you can start purchasing the materials and doing the straight cuts. The full
size paper cut-outs will be mailed within 48 hours. Shipping costs are calculated in the shopping cart by country
and dollar value.
